eurasia and gdansk solo dance contest 2020
Every year Stefano Fardelli selects one of the EurAsia Dancers that will directly join the Gdansk Solo Dance Contest in Poland, EurAsia Partner from 2018, with 29 other dancers coming from all over the world.
For this edition of the Contest 2020 the EurAsia´s Artistic Director has selected the solo “Sanatana” created by our EurAsia Dancer Girish Kumar, in Europe with EurAsia from 2017, and originally from India.
Girish, in the last three years, has had his professional training in CDSH of Hamburg, EurAsia Partner from Germany and is the dancer that Stefano Fardelli has selected for the EurAsia Residency at Studio Wayne McGregor, EurAsia Partner from UK, last October 2019.
In normal conditions, The Gdansk Solo Dance Contest would have taken care of his trip, accommodation and meals for all the period he was supposed to be hosted.
The contest is still supporting the dancer but with different conditions, as the competition will be be mostly held online, because of Covid-19.
In case he will be one of the three winners, he will have the opportunity to share the 5000 Euros of cash prize that the contest offers to the best projects.
For this year collaboration between EurAsia and Gdansk Solo Dance Contest, we have an extra cooperation as one of the member of the Jury of the Contest will be our EurAsia Member Susanna Beltrami, Artistic Director of DanceHaus in Milan, first EurAsia Partner from 2016, and one of the most important Italian choreographers and educators.
Susanna Beltrami studied, among others, at the Merce Cunningham Foundation in New York and then she collaborated with Carolyn Carlson, Jorma Uotinen, Luciana Savignano and more.
The cooperation between DanceHaus and Gdansk Solo Dance Contest was established as part of the partnership with EurAsia Dance Project International Network directed by Stefano Fardelli.
