Matteo Sedda solo performance is a part of Crossroads #inhabitingtheworld, a cultural exchange program brought by EurAsia Dance Project International Network, EurAsia Partner DANCEHAUSpiú (Italy), EurAsia Partner MilanOltre Festival (Italy), EurAsia Partner Kolkata Centre for Creativity, in collaboration with La Sfera Danza – International Dance Festival (Italy), Compagnia Petranuradanza / Megakles Ballet (Italy), and supported by MIC, Italian Ministry of Culture and the Consulate General of Italy in Kolkata.

Matteo Sedda will be working on the solo during his two weeks artistic residency at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity in collaboration with the local visual artist, Rudra Kishore Mandal. Both of them have been mentored by Stefano Fardelli, artistic director of EurAsia Dance Project International Network and creator, as well as pillar, of this large and varied cultural exchange program such as Crossroads.

The original music for Matteo Sedda’s solo piece is by Haowu.

For Crossroads #inhabitingtheworld we have selected four dancers from Italy, India and Poland who, through a path of artistic research, exchange of practices, performances and talks, they all will travel to other countries meeting new cultures. In selecting the participants for this project, the cultural and artistic background, the geographical origin, the aptitude for creation and intercultural exchange were taken into consideration.

A multidisciplinary artist has been selected for each local community of the extra-European countries involved who will accompany each choreographer in his artistic process, crossing their respective research paths and generating a new original creation.

Four different operators will follow the dancers and local artists in their path with the role of tutoring and mentoring, accompanying them in their residences and in their creative process and documenting the work in progress.

Matteo Sedda has been working as a dancer for various choreographers such as Enzo Cosimi, Igor & Moreno, Jan Fabre, Nathalie Larquet and others.
Rudra K. Mandal is one of the most brilliant visual artists in Kolkata. His works, with a strong visual impact, through a lens and a queer gaze are the expression of the artist’s visions, emotions and creations.
