The Polish festival wanted to pay tribute to the EurAsia Artistic Director Stefano Fardelli, with this photo by Paweł Wyszomirski published for this year edition of the Solo Dance Contest 2024, representing him in his solo Svarupa-vyakta, which won the Contest in 2014.

As the host for the contest is the EurAsia Partner Gdansk Festwal Tanca, every year Stefano Fardelli selects one of the EurAsia Dancers that will directly join the event along with the other selected participants coming from all over the world.

The EurAsia Artistic Director is glad to announce the name of the EurAsia Dancer chosen for this year’s edition of the contest and that therefore is travelling to Gdansk, in Poland: Lourdes Maldonado, originally from Mexico, with her solo “Mictlán”.

Lourdes is also a member of the E.D.C. – EurAsia Dance Company, along with other EurAsia Dancers, on tour worldwide every year.

Her solo will be presented on August 29th at 6pm at Klub Żak, Gdańsk, Poland.

On August 30th at 7pm the E.D.C. – EurAsia Dance Company will close the Solo Dance Contest opening the Festival. There will be a talk about the EurAsia Repertory Unseen followed by the performance of Svarupa & Vyakta- a reinterpretation of Stefano Fardelli’s solo as a duet version at the piece’s 10 year anniversary.
