The journalist Hanna Raszewska-Kursa, after watching the duet Svarupa & Vyakta, created by Stefano Fardelli, and danced by the E.D.C. – EurAsia Dance Company on tour at Gdansk Festiwal Danca, Poland, is writing the following:

“While waiting for the verdict of the Gdansk Solo Dance Contest, one more performance was presented: ‘Svarupa & Vyakta’, choreographed by Stefano Fardelli and performed by EurAsia Dancers Marco Hernandez (Mexico) and Jesús Rea (Bolivia). The hypnotic work, full of harmony and focus, brought a moment of much-needed respite after a kaleidoscope of competition etudes, instantly switching the audience between different styles and emotional registers. What’s more, the duet is an extended version of the solo with which Fardelli took his place on the Solo Dance Contest podium ten years ago. The piece brought us to a kind peak of this rich week.”

Hipnotyczna praca, pełna harmonii i skupienia, przyniosła chwilę bardzo potrzebnego oddechu po kalejdoskopie konkursowych etiud, błyskawicznie przełączających widownię między odmiennymi stylistykami i rejestrami emocjonalnymi. Co więcej, duet stanowi rozbudowaną wersję sola, z którym Fardelli dziesięć lat temu zajął miejsce na podium Solo Dance Contest. W ten sposób stał się swoistą pointą tego bogatego tygodnia.”

SVARUPA – VYAKTA is a solo inspired by a trip to India and means “Self” in Sanskrit in two different ways as different will be the dialectic created between the dancers and the five balloons, which represent the projection of the “Self” in another dimension.
Svarupa-vyakta is a historical piece of Stefano Fardelli’s repertoire, a highly successful solo that toured the world between 2014 and 2019, danced by Stefano Fardelli himself, and that is now staged again for a duet and two dancers of the company, with the new title SVARUPA & VYAKTA.
